A woman was strolling along the beach, relishing the sound of the waves, the birds flying around, and the peace embracing her. As she walked, she observed that the weather was starting to shift. This didn’t concern her, so she continued. Suddenly, a fog rolled in, beginning to cloud her view. Initially, she didn’t think much of it until the fog became so thick that she couldn’t see anything around her. This was a first for her, and she started to feel uneasy, prompting her to turn back. However, when she turned around, she couldn’t see in that direction either. She was uncertain about which way to go and started to feel a bit panicked. What should she do? She paused for a moment, unable to believe this was happening. How could her peace vanish so quickly? What happened to her sanctuary? As she stood there, she heard a soft, quiet voice asking, ‘Are you okay?’ She looked around but still couldn’t see anything or anyone. She replied, “Who is there?”.
The voice responded, “Just keep going.” “But I don’t know where to go or how to get home.” “It’s okay, just keep going, I will help guide you.” There was somthing peaceful about the voice that made her feel secure, so she listened. As she walked, she stumbled a few times and nearly got hurt, but that didn’t stop her from moving forward. As she navigated through the fog, she felt stronger and more confident, yet humbled at the same time. She continued through the fog, unaware of what obstacles lay ahead, but regardless, she persevered.
The voice spoke again, “You’ve been doing well, but now it’s time to rest. Stop for a moment and take in your surroundings.” She replied, “But I can’t see anything, how will I take in what is around me?” The voice remained silent, so she followed the instructions. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and felt gratitude within her. Suddenly, she heard the waves again and sensed the birds around her, realizing her peace had returned; she just needed to look beyond the obstacles and understand that only she could take away her peace through fear. She felt an urge to cry, but it wasn’t out of sadness; it was from relief. She realized that everything she had experienced up to that moment was meant to strengthen her. She was thankful for the challenges. She no longer feared the fog that enveloped her; she felt peace amidst the circumstances. She also knew she was not far from her destination. She understood where she was headed and was determined to reach it. Suddenly, she realized the voice she heard was not another person; it was the presence of God within her. She had everything she needed inside her to get through the fog because God provided all she needed; she just had to remember this while facing challenges. In her moment of realization, the fog lifted. Just like that, her sight was restored, but this time she saw with more than just her eyes; she saw with her spirit. When she looked up, she not only reached her destination, but it was even better than she had imagined. She knew that if the fog returned, she would find her way through, as no circumstance could ever take away her peace again. God was always with her, and by continuing to seek Him and follow the path of Jesus, she would have all she needed in life, plus so much more.
There are times when we're called to follow, even without understanding the destination. Where He leads, we go—trusting that He walks with us every step of the way. He will never guide us to a place He hasn't already prepared.
Even when the path is unclear, and obstacles abound, let's not be swayed by distractions. Instead, pause and look inward. Take a deep breath. It's okay to rest and find peace in the moment. In our haste, we often overlook the beauty surrounding us. God invites us to slow down and appreciate the blessings He places along our journey.
Take a moment to reflect on how far you've come and recognize how far He has brought you. Each step, guided…
